Rescuing the Island of Mozambique from the hands of the opposition and collaborating with the government in the implementation of its five-year programme is the main ambition of the Island of Mozambique’s population in the current five-year governance mandate, TVM reports.
This was the pact signed before the Secretary General of Frelimo, Roque Silva, visiting the Island of Mozambique, adds the same source.
Meanwhile, “Nachingwea Frelimo”, on its Instagram page, also brings a report on the visit of the Frelimo Secretary General.
Galvanised by their victory in the elections of 15 October, 2019, members, supporters and the population in general greeted Frelimo Secretary General Roque Silva Samuel enthusiastically on Sunday, March 1. He was visiting the Island of Mozambique in Nampula province by way of saying thank you for the vote of confidence placed in the party and its candidate Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.
Addressing a rally, the Frelimo secretary general welcomed and acknowledged the effort made by members, supporters and the population in general in the preparation and holding of the general and provincial elections.
“We want to greet our members, supporters and everyone for another step in the consolidation of democracy and we publicly appreciate the way they organised themselves for success in these elections and for the victory of Frelimo and President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi,” he said.
Roque Silva told Frelimo members and the population of the Island of Mozambique that they knew how to transform the electoral process into a real moment of celebration of collective conquests and in the consolidation of national unity, peace and social stability.
He called for everyone to remain involved in collective efforts to achieve the objectives of the government’s Five-Year Plan.
