Speaking in Matola, Maputo province, this Wednesday, Frelimo Secretary General Roque Silva again distanced the party from those who harm the country’s economic growth.
“Our position as a political party is one of respect for the principle of separation of powers, at the same time calling on the institutions of justice to investigate whether or not there are deviations within the process and, in case of deviation, of course that measures be taken as provided for by law. If public resources are diverted, of course it is our call as a party that efforts be made to recover these resources so that they serve all Mozambicans,” Silva said, addressing the case involving former finance minister Manuel Chang.
The Frelimo Secretary General stressed that it was essential to hold party members accountable if they were involved in cases of commercial debt.
