Frelimo’s bench in the Quelimane Municipal Assembly in the capital of Zambézia province has questioned the legitimacy of Manuel de Araújo to continue to lead the municipal executive.
Frelimo addressed the matter of Araújo continuing to command the municipal administrative machine after his resignation as a member of MDM, via which he came to power, during the third ordinary session of the assembly.
Another point advanced by the Frelimo bench related to working conditions in the Municipal Assembly, where the party denounced the lack of adequate means for the supervision of the executive’s activities.
The bench also demands the municipal authorities account for the siting of a funeral home near the Supermarket Number One, in violation of the city’s aesthetics.
Frelimo further demanded to know how much it would cost to rehabilitate the road between the Torrone and Aeroporto neighbourhoods, requesting that all information on the contractors and details related to the matter be supplied.
