Mozambique's President calls for consolidation of "shared citizenship" in CPLP countries
O País / Frelimo's parliamentary bench
Parliament yesterday approved the General State Accounts (Conta Geral do Estado, CGE) for the financial year 2014, the last year of the Armando Guebuza administration.
After being presented in plenary session about two weeks ago, the CGE was put to the vote and approved on the basis of majority Frelimo votes.
Both the Renamo and MDM opposition benches voted against the adoption of the Bill, claiming that it did not accurately reflect the events of the financial year. Prime among their concerns was the lack of data on the state-guaranteed debts of MAM and Proindicus which came to light in the first quarter of this year.
