On a visit to the northern province of Niassa, in Mozambique, Frelimo president Filipe Nyusi on March 25th met the party’s Provincial Committee Secretariat and other cadres.
The meeting was meant to evaluate the performance of the party, listen to the opinions of various stakeholders in Niassa on the performance of the government, especially the fulfilment of the government’s Five-Year Program, the process of provincial and municipal decentralisation and the fight against corruption.
Frelimo leaders and cadres in the province profusely saluted the Comrade President for the recognition given to him by the Secretary General of the United Nations and by other bodies on Mozambique reaching gender parity in its [Council of Ministers] composition, and significant progress in other areas.
They highlighted his personal dedication to the accelerated growth of Niassa, particularly regarding infrastructure and other structures supporting development, while the committed and correct way in which he had faced the peace building process in the face of terrorism and other threats also attracted high praise.
