Frelimo Secretary-General Roque Silva said on Thursday morning during a visit to the city of Maputo that his party wasn’t afraid of any political adversary in the elections scheduled for 10 October.
Silva made a point of claiming that Frelimo had no role in excluding Venancio Mondlane as Renamo’s head of list for the municipal elections in the city of Maputo.
“The MDM submitted the complaint, everyone knows that. The CNE deliberated, and Frelimo has no responsibility in the matter. Frelimo fears no one. If it were afraid, it would not have approved the law, because it has a majority in the Assembly of the Republic,” he said.
Frelimo was ready to take on any adversary, Silva said.
Silva was in Maputo to see how the party base was preparing for the elections in October, and held meetings with party social organisations in the city.
