Mozambique: Nyusi condemns destruction of infrastructures

Frelimo held, this Wednesday, in Maputo, individual meetings with foreign ambassadors accredited in Mozambique, with a view to cementing relations of cooperation, friendship and brotherhood between countries and peoples.
These are the ambassadors of the Federative Republic of Russia, Alexander Súrikov; of the Republic of Rwanda, Claude Nikobisanzwe; of East Timor, Francisco Miranda Branco; of Libya, Saleh Muhammad Muhammad Al-Boayshi,; and of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Fayez Abdul Jawad.
Frelimo Secretary General, Roque Silva, who received the diplomats in courtesy meetings requested by them, said that it was a sovereign opportunity to deal with various matters of mutual interest, with a focus on the international situation, the challenges of combating terrorism, the impact of Covid 19, natural disasters and the Russia-Ukraine War in the lives of populations around the world, among others.
According to the Secretary General of Frelimo, the need to restore peace in the world is a common concern, in order to enable the continued development of economies.

At the meeting with the Russian diplomat, Alexander Surikov, Roque Silva said that, in general, he had received information regarding the current conflict involving this country and Ukraine, and took the opportunity to reaffirm the Mozambican government’s vision of a solution based on dialogue.
Roque Silva said he had taken advantage of the meeting with the Ambassador of Rwanda to praise the role of that country’s troops in supporting the stabilization of the military situation in the areas affected by terrorism, thanking the people and Government of Rwanda on behalf of Frelimo members and sympathizers for their support.
He also highlighted the solidarity of Frelimo and Mozambique, which is always present in relation to the Palestinian cause in the conflict that is imposed on them by Israel, having said that Frelimo will always be side by side with the PLO in this fight.
Roque Silva expressed in the meeting with the Libyan Ambassador, Frelimo’s wish to see that country free of military conflict of any kind, in order to once again place the abundant riches in that sister country at the service of improving the quality of life of its people, in a country that was once a reference in terms of development in Africa.
He highlighted the historical bonds of brotherhood that unite Mozambique and East Timor In the meeting with the ambassador of that country.
In general, the diplomats congratulated Frelimo and its leaders on the success of the 12th Congress, encouraging Mozambicans to continue to face with determination the challenges of the fight against terrorism and for the country’s development.
