The Frelimo parliamentary bench on Thursday accused Renamo of destroying the country and killing while simultaneously negotiating peace.
Speaking in parliament, majority leader Margarida Talapa said the actions attributed to Renamo were “a clear sign that their commitment is to destruction and delaying the development of the Mozambican people”.
Talapa reiterated that while Renamo negotiates with the government “and sits with us in parliament and provincial assemblies, it continues to attack, kill, maim, plunder and destroy”.
She went further and said that Afonso Dhlakama’s party’s “consistently and without justification assaults hospitals, plunders vehicles, attacks trains, destroys property on the roads and in villages, and terrorises people”.
