Mozambique: 'Franco-Moçambicano' celebrates thirty years

In the context of the celebration of Mozambican Women’s Month, the Mozambican-German Cultural Centre (CCMA) invites everyone to the screening of the acclaimed film “The Virgin Margarida”, by Brazilian-Mozambican filmmaker Licínio Azevedo, to be held in its Gallery at 6:00 p.m. on April 2nd.
In synopsis: 1975, Mozambique. The revolution cleans the streets, removing prostitutes and brothels from the capital. The women are taken to a re-education camp in a region in the north of the country. Margarida, a young peasant woman, is mistakenly sent there, where she will have to face several adversities.
Admission is free, and the screening provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the social, political and emotional impacts of this turbulent period in Mozambique’s history.
