At least four people died when a civil protection surveillance aircraft crashed during a training exercise at Jijel Ferhat Abbas Airport in northern Algeria’s town of Taher, local media reported on Tuesday, citing civil protection officials.
According to reports, the plane went down while conducting a routine training mission at the airport.
The victims included two personnel from the Civil Protection force, a flight instructor affiliated with the Civil Protection Aviation School, and a Chilean national who served as a manager at an aviation company. An inquiry into the cause of the crash is likely to be initiated.
