Mozambique: Maputo to host Zone 4 African Boxing Championships

The Mozambican sport is mourning the death on Wednesday of Miguel Chau, the coach who, along with Mart Nooij, saw the Mambas qualify for the 2010 CAN in Angola.
Chau died at the age of 53 of an illness diagnosed two years ago, fro which he had been treated at hospitals in and outside the country.
Chau was technical assistant of the Mambas between 2007 and 2011. After the unsuccessful CAN-2010 campaign, he was appointed interim coach, working with Calton Banze to lead the Mambas through two games in the African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign for players operating in their own countries.
Before working with the Mambas, Chau was coach at Matchedj, Costa do Sol, Ferroviário de Maputo and Maxaquene.
The deceased leaves a widow and five children.
