FNB Mozambique (FNBM) was the official sponsor of the Picanto Cup 2022 car competition, organised by INTERCAR.
After two years behind closed doors because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the trophy this year made a comeback in its traditional format, with the audience watching from the stands.
On Saturday, March 19, the Automobile & Touring Club of Mozambique (ATCM) hosted the 1st Grand Prix of 2022.
The Picanto Cup, a reference event in the city of Maputo, promotes coexistence on and off the racetrack and brings visibility to younger drivers and others. The enthusiasm, support and warmth of motorsport fans during the races was contagious. The Picanto Cup 2022 includes seven races, one of which is scheduled to take place in Pretoria, South Africa.
“The FNBM sees sport as an important meeting point, and a way of developing the physical and social skills of citizens. For the FNB, it is an honour to be associated with this benchmark competition in Mozambique and internationally. This event, and others that FNBM sponsors (such as the FNB Maputo 10K race), reflects our commitment to the community. We also want to provide a unique experience to our customers during the competitions, and for that we have created a space specially dedicated to them,” said Peter Blenkinsop, CEO of FNB Mozambique.
FNB Mozambique guest customers had the opportunity to attend the adrenaline-filled event in the comfort of the FNB space – as will be the case for the next five of the season’s competitions in Mozambique.
FNB Mozambique is currently at a turning point, and repositioning this year with a special focus on customer service.
