Mozambique: Trafigura pledges to help restore forests

Five individuals charged with extracting bile from 24 crocodiles in Cahora Bassa are to appear in court in Tete province. The case is worrying because poison from the liquid is lethal. So far the reasons for the extraction and the whereabouts of the substance are not known.
The administrator of Mágoe National Park, Luis Nhamanha, said that the case was in the hands of the local prosecutor, who was working to ascertain the fact of the case, and explained that the apprehending of the five individuals was the result of collaboration between the Forest Protection Force and local communities.
The five detainees are Mozambican, and the company they work for has been summoned top appear before the judicial authorities.
