First National Bank of Mozambique (FNB) and National Aviation Services (NAS), a provider of aviation services, inaugurated opened its first exclusive departure lounge at Maputo International Airport.
The FNB Lounge is located on the first floor of the Maputo International Airport and is exclusively for the FNB Mozambique Platinum and Black Card Limited Edition clients. Access to the lounge is obtained by presenting his or her Platinum or Black Card Limited Edition FNB credit card.
The 250 square metre area incorporates innovative, world-class design features, providing a relaxing environment where customers can rest, have a meal and work while they wait to board flights.
The space can accommodate 55 people and offers a variety of buffet and beverage options, free Wi-Fi, a business centre, a selection of reading material, toilets, entertainment facilities and a “Kids Zone”.
The “FNB Lounge by NAS Pearl Assist” was officially opened on Thursday, February 16, by the Minister of Transport and Communication of Mozambique, Carlos Mesquita, Deputy Director General FNB Mozambique Paulo Pereira and the commercial director of the NAS Group, David Henderson.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, NAS Group Commercial Director David Henderson said he was pleased with the partnership that had led to the opening of the lounge. “As we see an increase in foreign investment in the country, it is increasingly important to offer world-class facilities for local and international travellers,” he noted.
“With the NAS experience in lounge management, resource investment and hand-picked service teams, we can assure FNB and other guests the best in terms of comfort and modernity,” he added.
FNB Mozambique Assistant Delegate Administrator Paulo Pereira said that FNB Mozambique was committed to adapting continuously and exceeding industry expectations.
Lounge users would be assigned Platinum managers, he said, who would answer clients’ needs and have custom cards to facilitate online payments.
“We continue to study the Mozambican context and to ask ‘How can we help? We will continue to bring innovative products and solutions to the Mozambican market,” he concluded.
There are already FirstRand group lounges (of which FNB Mozambique is a part) in Namibia, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa.
The opening of the lounge is part of the strategy to revitalize and modernize the financial institution’s clients services, and demonstrate the company’s new positioning as “an out-of-the-ordinary bank”, offering greater comfort, convenience and excellence, becoming more and more an innovative banking institution, always ready to create solutions that meet the needs of its customers.
The opening ceremony consisted of cutting the ribbon and presenting the FNB lounge and was attended by the PCA of Mozambique Airports, Emanuel Chaves, President of the Aeronautics of Mozambique, Commander João Abreu, clients, partners, journalists and the FNB Mozambique team.
