Cornelder de Moçambique (CdM) has recently acquired two new fire trucks, which aim to reinforce a prompt response in any case of fire in the Port of Beira.
The aforementioned trucks, which are already operating, arrived at the Port of Beira in August of the current year and underwent inspections, radio assembly, logo placement and other equipment necessary for their operation. This is the first time in the history of CdM that the company has acquired new and modern fire-fighting trucks, in order to better serve the users of the Port of Beira safely.
The vehicles purchased are being managed by the Department of Environment, Safety and Occupational Health. Each vehicle has a capacity of ten thousand (10,000) liters, being eight thousand (8,000) for water and two thousand (2,000) for foam.
The acquisition of the two new fire trucks followed another major investment made by CdM to reinforce its fleet of machinery and port handling equipment, valued at approximately ten (10) million US dollars.
Terminal tractors, forklifts, long reach forklifts, mechanical shovels, excavators, grapples, hoppers and other equipment were acquired, inaugurated on June 10, 2022, which, in addition to substantially increasing the load handling capacity and security in the Port of Beira, are contributing to increasing the competitiveness of the Beira Corridor.
