Festive Season 2018: over 97,000 visits in Maputo city

Maputo’s Director of Culture and Tourism Rafael Funzana has disclosed that almost 100,000 people visited the city during the festive season.
Funzana said the data is related to tourists in transit and those who occupied hotel rooms in the country’s capital.
Compared to 2017, Maputo last year recorded a ten percent increase in the number of visitors who occupied hotel rooms during the festive season.
Funzana stressed that this is preliminary data, taking into account that the evaluation of the level of visitors in the festive season is made from December 15 to January 15.
He also said in addition to business tourism, Maputo City has other attractive segments.
