In the category of single awards, Zambezia province won the Breakthrough Award and Manica won the Award for Best Management Stand.
Tete and Inhambane Provinces won Best Info and Best Producer prizes respectively. The province of Cabo Delgado won the Innovation Award.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Prime Minister said that the participation of entrepreneurs was necessary to transform the potential of the country’s provinces because it was they who would contribute to the creation of jobs, generating income and improving the quality of life of Mozambicans.
Rosario said that the theme of this edition of FACIM, “Promoting Economic Links with Potential for Exports’, reflects the current challenge imposed on the economy: to increase production and productivity, promote exports and replace imports.
To do this, the business sector must capitalise on the country’s natural resources, as well as maximising the opportunities arising from regional and international trade agreements.
“We are hopeful that this edition of FACIM established partnerships and synergies in areas of mutual interest and benefit that will, directly and indirectly, meet the challenges of increasing production and productivity,” Agostinho do Rosario said, stressing in this context particularly the agriculture, fisheries, agro-industry, tourism, and exploitation of natural resources and energy sectors.
Before the awards ceremony, the prime minister visited the various FACIM pavilions and expressed his satisfaction at what he called entrepreneurs and investors “investing in Mozambique without illusions”.
