The European Union (EU) will donate EUR16 million for the rehabilitation of the Milange-Mocuba road in Zambézia province, central Mozambique, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique says.
The statement says that the project financing agreement will be signed by the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, Nyeleti Mondlane, and the head of the EU delegation in Mozambique, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff, during a working visit to Zambezia province from Wednesday to Friday of this week.
“The amount is specifically intended to finance emergency work on bridges damaged by the rains in 2015,” says the press release.
The visit of the Foreign Affairs and Cooperation deputy minister is intended to ensure the identification of rural development programs and projects to be financed by the EU within the EU-Mozambique 2014-2020 framework of cooperation.
