The authorities in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region have warned people against sheltering anyone trying to destabilise the region.
In an apparent reference to the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces that the army has been fighting since November, Tigrayans were urged to either hand them over or move away in order to avoid becoming a target.
There was also a call for people to support the provisional administration that was set up after the TPLF was ousted.
Correspondents say many Tigrayans are angry that the central government has imposed its own officials in Tigray.
Last week there were protests in several towns during a visit by a peace delegation made up of religious leaders and the famous Ethiopian athlete Haile Gebrselassie.
