Mozambique’s neighbour, the Kingdom of Eswatini, has announced that it is willing to support Mozambique’s fight against terrorism in the northern province of Cabo Delgado, where terrorist attacks have been occurring since October 2017, resulting in hundreds of deaths and more than 300,000 displaced persons.
This position was expressed in a meeting this Wednesday between President Filipe Nyusi and a delegation representing King Mswati III, led by Mgwagwa Gamedze.
“His Majesty the King will always be with the Mozambican people. Eswatini is ready to help, in whatever it takes to help end the problem,” Gamedze said.
Mgwagwa Gamedze recalled that Eswatini and Mozambique share a border, demanding concerted action in combating problems such as terrorism and Covid-19.
