Mozambique: President Nyusi appoints new ambassador to the United Nations
Mozambique’s political and security situation, notably in the centre of the country, is affected by an escalating cycle of violence.
It is important that a framework for a peaceful and negotiated political solution be agreed upon as soon as possible.
This requires the engagement of all parties. The EU is committed to contribute to this process.
The current stalemate exacerbates Mozambique’s economic and financial difficulties. Business and investments, both private and public, are impaired by this situation.
Leadership is now required to restore confidence, internally and externally, so that Mozambique’s development challenges can be effectively addressed.
