Mozambique: Violent demonstrations continue to prevent normal operation of toll roads - AIM

The Mozambican journalist Ericino de Salema, who was kidnapped and beaten three months ago in Maputo, is able to walk and could be discharged within a month, according to a family source.
The source added that de Salema is doing physiotherapy at a South African hospital he went to after being attacked by strangers on March 27th.
“He is recovering well, and he is able to walk, although he still has a few limitations in movements, he could be discharged within a month,” he added.
Ericino was kidnapped by strangers near the National Journalists Union (SNJ), where he was having lunch. He was beaten with blunt instruments on his legs.
The attackers left the journalist near the Maputo ring road, where he was found unconscious by locals who took him to the hospital.
Mozambican police have not yet announced any detention related to the case.
At the time of his kidnapping and aggression, Ericino de Salema was a commentator on STV’s programme “Pontos de Vista”.
