Eni Rovuma Basin provided capacity building training for primary school teachers and headmasters in Pemba

Eni Rovuma Basin, on behalf of Area 4 partners and Mozambique Rovuma Venture, provided a capacity building training for 51 primary teachers and 13 School headmasters, from Paquitequete primary schools in the city of Pemba, Cabo Delgado province. The training’ s closing ceremony took place on the 24th of July and was attended by the Governor of Cabo Delgado, Mr. Valige Tauabo and the General Manager of Eni Rovuma Basin, Mr. Giorgio Vicini.
The initiative falls within the sustainability plan of Coral South project, and it is also part of the integrated education project that Eni Rovuma Basin is implementing in partnership with the Government of Cabo Delgado.
The training program had a duration of 22 months, from October 2021 to July 2023. During this period, various topics were addressed in the areas of teaching methodologies, as well as school management, in order to increase the trainees’ pedagogical and management skills.
The implementation of the integrated education project is part of Eni Rovuma Basin´s commitment to contribute to inclusive, equitable and quality education, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the capacity building program, Eni Rovuma Basin recently donated several equipment and school material to Paquitequete schools and provides daily lunch packs to 4000 school children.
About Eni
Eni has been present in Mozambique since 2006, and its upstream activities account for an equity production of about 25,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. It is the delegated operator of the Coral South Project on behalf of the Area 4 Partners. The company discovered supergiant natural gas resources in Area 4, the Rovuma basin, namely the Coral, Mamba Complex and Agulha reservoirs, holding estimated 2,400 billion cubic meters of gas in place.
About Area 4
Area 4 is operated by Mozambique Rovuma Venture S.p.A. (MRV), an incorporated joint venture owned by Eni, ExxonMobil and CNPC, which holds a 70 percent interest in the Area 4 exploration and production concession contract. In addition to MRV, Galp, KOGAS and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos E.P. each hold a 10 percent interest in Area 4.
