Mozambique: Cahora Bassa hydroelectric plant recovers water storage in January

EMP (PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk) is one of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas company that operates and has working interest in 11 working area across Indonesia and Mozambique.
EMP through Buzi Hydrocarbons Pte. Ltd. (BHPL) is entering to a crucial phase of development, as was granted a two years period to evaluate the commerciality of potential discoveries in Buzi and Divinhe areas in the North and South part of the Block respectively. The appraisal program was approved by MIREME/INP on the 5th August 2022 starting a new stage of operations in the Buzi Block.
BHPL have been conducting several activities and as the result have drilled two wells that confirmed the presence of natural gas in the Cretaceous Grudja Formation. In this phase BHPL is committed to acquire more than 1000 km of 2D Seismic and drill several wells that will be used as appraisal and future production.
During the execution of the appraisal program the Concessionaire will do also declaration of commerciality of mature fields and subsequent submission of Development Plan that will lead to production.
BHPL is a Subsidiary of Indonesian EMP – Oil and Natural Gas Company holding 75% of participating interest as operator in Joint Venture with Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), a Mozambique state owned enterprise with 25% carried through production.
