Elias Dhlakama confirms candidacy for RENAMO presidency

Elias Dhlakama has confirmed his candidacy for Renamo leadership.
Afonso Dhlakama’s brother is the second to express interest in leading Renamo after Manuel Bissopo, the party’s current secretary general.
With just five days to go before the Renamo congress, Elias stepped up to confirm the race for the presidency of the largest opposition party.
In fact, the election of the successor of Afonso, who died in May 2018, is one of the most important points of the Congress that will take place from January 15-17 in Gorongosa.
The formation of members will be Elias’s biggest bet during his lead if he wins the internal election.
Elias came to the reserve in October last year, following an express request to the President of the Republic.
Until the date of his reservation, Elias Dhlakama led the Reserve Command since 2015.
