Almost two years after the gale that destroyed classrooms at the Complete Primary School in Mumemo 1, Marracuene, the students are waiting for the reconstruction of the School.
The school was built by a private contractor and handed over to the district government more than four years ago. But the trail of destruction wrought by the gale that devastated the city and province of Maputo around two years ago remains.
The situation is of concern to the teachers and the management of the school. With more than 600 students divided into three shifts, the school also currently functions without an administration block, school desks or toilets.
Watch the report below for more about this school’s four roofless classrooms (out of eight classrooms in total) and other challenges.
