EDM: Two weeks to fully restore electricity to all Beira neighbourhoods

Mozambique Electricity (EDM) says it will fully restore electricity to all neighbourhoods of Beira city within the next two weeks.
EDM spokesman Luís Amado said that an average of 15 power transformers damaged by cyclone IDAI were being reactivated per day,
“We are already quite advanced on the ground, in that that we have the whole medium voltage network already restored. From there, we will continue the more difficult jobs, such as those extensions of ten, twelve and one kilometre networks which are down. We will also go to other places that we have not yet been able to get to yet, such as Búzi, Guara-guara and Muxúnguè,” he said.
Amado said that electrical power had now been forty percent restored over all.
