New fisheries and aquaculture bill set to streamline Zimbabwe’s seafood industry
Democratic Republic of Congo soldiers have captured a suspected militia leader and paraded him in front of people, the country’s national broadcaster, RTNC radio, reported.
He was from the Mai Mai group and had allegedly been tattooing young boys, telling them it would protect them from flying bullets, Jean Paul Ntoto from Butembo police said.
The suspect is reportedly thought to have regularly attacked military positions in Butembo located in North Kivu.
“He is a Mai Mai leader, an outlaw. When the Monusco [United Nations Stabilisation Mission in the DR Congo] base was attacked on 26 July, we saw him with a spear among a group of people,” Mr Ntoto told RTNC radio.
The alleged militia leader was captured with bullets along with two other alleged bandits who authorities said had a gun and ammunition.
