The Nametil-Angoche, Nampula-Corrane, Angoche-Liupo and Liupo-Corrane road sections in Nampula province are impassable as a result of the passage of Cyclone Dikeledi.
The National Roads Administration (ANE) explains that there has been erosion and collapse of aqueducts on the N104, R686, R689 and R687 roads, hindering the normal movement of vehicles and people.
“The ANE recommends that road users plan their journeys and transport of passengers and goods with redoubled observance of the precautionary measures in force during rainy periods, especially when crossing flooded or poor visibility areas and when approaching bridges, viaducts and aqueducts. Likewise, it recommends monitoring the pertinent information disseminated by the competent entities,” reads a note issued by ANE on Tuesday (14-01).
