Registry and public notary services have yet to experience the benefits of digitisation, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice Manuel Didier Malunga has said, and users are frustrated by the resultant slowness of services
Edmo Augustinho (see video report below) came to Maputo from Niassa to obtain a birth certificate and seize a job opportunity, but says he missed the opportunity because the document took weeks to be issued.
If birth registration data were scanned, Edmo Agostinho might not have lost that job opportunity.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs admits that digitisation is challenging, but says efforts are being made to become more efficient.
Users however are impatient to witness the arrival of digital platforms in these services.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs was speaking during the XII National Meeting of Registries and Notaries, under the motto “Registries and Notaries Committed to the Improvement and Approximation of Services to the Citizen”.
