Member of the Frelimo Political Commission and head of the party brigade for Niassa province, Carvalho Muária argues that Mozambicans should fight for the preservation of peace and increase productivity to strengthen the country’s economy.
Demonstrating against the government’s debt situation, the current cost of living and the political and military conflict in the country shows a lack of patriotic sense, Muária said.
“This [protesting] means delaying the resolution of our problems. Anything can happen at a demonstration; there may be people wishing to exploit the situation, pundering what we have accomplished and worsening our situation. The demonstration will not solve the problem. On the contrary, the demonstration will be worsening the situation,” said Carvalho Muária.
