Former Angolan minister Adão do Nascimento was found dead in a hotel in Mozambique. The autopsy revealed anatomopathological changes, “compatible with acute chronic cardiovascular disease”.
According to the Embassy of Angola in Maputo, the autopsy done to Adão do Nascimento, found dead on 12 December at a Maputo hotel, revealed anatomopathological changes “compatible with acute chronic cardiovascular disease”.
“Conclusively, this was cardiogenic shock resulting from acute myocardial infarction as a consequence of ischemic heart disease,” read the note.
With regard to traumatic head injuries, according to the Angolan diplomatic mission in Mozambique, the report says that they have nothing to do with the cause of death, “presumably as a result of the fall in the moment of the cardiovascular event.”
The investigations took three days and were carried out by the National Criminal Investigation Service of Mozambique, in coordination with the Legal Medicine Service and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Maputo.
The body of Adão Gaspar Ferreira do Nascimento, Minister of Higher Education between 2012 and 2017, arrives in Angola on Wednesday night, and it is expected that the funeral will take place this week, all depending on the will of the family.
