Danish Satar kidnapped in Maputo days after release from prison

Danish Satar, who was released from jail on Monday ( June 6), was kidnapped yesterday evening in Maputo’s Coop neighbourhood, reports Folha de Maputo.
He was kidnapped by four men in two cars who fired into the air and blocked off his vehicle.
The news was announced on the Facebook page of his uncle, Momad Assife Abdul Satar, better known as Nini Satar, reports Folha de Maputo.
Danish Satar was arrested by the Mozambican police in coordination with the Italian police at the end of last year on suspicion of being the mastermind behind a wave of kidnappings across Mozambique’s largest cities.
He was released by the Mozambican Supreme Court because he had spent 1,588 days in jail without charge, when the maximum allowed by law is 90 days.
