The Confederation of Mozambican Economic Associations (CTA), the country’s largest employers’ organisation, will need 235 million meticais (EUR 3.3.million) to fund its operations in 2019, 20% more than in 2018, it was announced yesterday.
The CTA’s Business Plan for 2019 says the increase in costs is the result of holding the Investment Conference, the first organised by the entity, and by the incorporation of a fund for the settlement of liabilities.
Of the funds needed for the coming year, 43% will be mobilised through its own revenues and the remaining 57% will come from cooperation partners.
Next year, the CTA plans to strengthen dialogue with the government, and support and consolidate inclusive, pro-active and representative business organisations.
The organisation is also undertaking to develop actions aimed at stimulating the competitiveness of national companies and the institutional capacity of organisations and enterprises.
The CTA’s 2018 Activity Report states that 68% of the actions scheduled for the current year had already been executed by September.
For the current year, the CTA had provided for expenses of 197 million meticais.
