Mozambique: Millennium BIM bolsters reserves, no dividend from 2024
Jornal O País
The government of Mozambique has enabled six of the 22 business environment reforms it promised in August of this year to carry out by July 2016. For its part, the private sector has started but not yet completed implementation, with the parties meeting last Friday to evaluate progress.
The commitment to reforms improving the business environment was made four months ago, with the onus falling initially more on the government than on business owners. One of the main government tasks is approving changes to the tax code.
The government has announced that has approved a revision of the Regulation of Travel Agencies and extended the electronic licensing of companies to Quelimane, Chimoio and Lichinga. Parliament has also approved a private credit agency registry aimed at strengthening the reforms.
