Number of foreign visitors to Mozambican heritage tripled in one year

A cruise ship belonging to a tourist agency from the Bahamas, a Caribbean country located in the same archipelago as Cuba, stopped this Friday (03-01) at Mozambique Island, a city on the coast of Nampula, where some of the 317 tourists of various nationalities disembarked to visit this World Heritage Site.
Information gathered by Wamphula Fax indicates that the cruise ship left on December 27 from the South African city of Cape Town, carrying 317 tourists and 311 crew members.
The ship arrived at Mozambique Island at around 6:00 a.m. and departed shortly after 5:00 p.m. the same day, with its next destination being Zanzibar Island, in neighbouring Tanzania. It will return to Cape Town on the 28th of this month, after stopping at several other points.
Tourists who disembarked on the Island of Mozambique had the opportunity to visit some historical infrastructures, as well as taste local delicacies and buy handicrafts.
