Mozambique: Public prosecutor opens 742 post-election protest crime cases
Lately, the residents of the Megaza building in the heart of Beira, capital of Sofala province, have found themselves plagued by a wave of burglaries perpetrated by agile criminals who scale the building by climbing the balconies from floor to floor and so effect entry.
Although located in the heart of the city, the area is regularly invaded at night by a large number of street children and older homeless people who sleep nearby under the benign and serene eye of the police, and without troubling the conscience or rest of the provincial government’s social services department.
