Mozambique’s government has withdrawn the requirement for a vaccination certificate and a negative test for Covid-19 for foreigners seeking to enter the country as part of the easing of restrictions imposed by the pandemic and to boost tourism.
The cabinet spokesman, Filimão Suaze, cited by daily newspaper Notícias, said that a rapid test for Covid-19 at the entrance to the country would also no longer be required for travellers who do not present a vaccination certificate.
The isolation imposed on people who test positive for Covid-19 will also be lifted, Suaze added.
People entering the country with symptoms of Covid-19 will also no longer be required to be tested.
“The easing of restrictions imposed by the pandemic is an international trend and aims to boost tourism,” Suaze said.
