Mozambique: MISA warns of deterioration in press freedom
To be a Mozambican is more than just a document.
It is a way of being, and living. It is a special way of looking at the world and facing adversities.
We have been through a lot, and we have overcome it all.
Always with a smile on our face, and with an unparalleled warmth of heart.
To be a Mozambican is to know how to adapt – to be imaginative in our solutions.
And we are facing a great challenge – perhaps the biggest we have ever faced. Because, in this war, the enemy cannot be seen. But it exists, and is very real. And the only way to stop it, is to take new measures and respect them, as much as we respect those we love most – our family, our friends, everyone. Because only together can we win.
And for the first time, to be together is to keep our distance, so that we can hug each other again later.
It is time for us to pray together, but each in our own corner.
It is time to know that better days will come, and that we will be here to witness that.
It is time to be positive, optimistic. As we always were.
To be from here is to know that, only united, even while we are apart, will we win.
