TAP is preparing for two passenger repatriation flights between Maputo and Lisbon on Monday night, an official source from the Portuguese airline told Lusa on Friday.
“We are waiting for the formal authorisation of the Mozambican authorities to make two flights, one on Monday, the 30th, departing from Maputo at 20:20, landing in Lisbon on the 31st at 05:50, Lisbon time, and another on Monday, the 30th, which departs from Maputo at 23:20, local time, and lands in Lisbon on the 31st at 08:50,” a TAP source has told Lusa.
These are the first flights from Mozambique to Portugal organised to repatriate passengers who were stranded following the restrictions placed by many countries to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Outward from Lisbon to Maputo, the two A330 Neo craft will carry humanitarian cargo, and returning, each will carry up to 298 passengers on each trip, the same source added.
Passengers wishing to book on these flights must do so through a travel agency or at the carrier’s kiosk in the Hotel Polana.
“For booking and issuing of tickets, passengers must contact their travel agency or the TAP store in the Hotel Polana in Maputo. Alternatively, they can access www.flytap.com and make their reservation online and after paying with a credit card, they will immediately receive confirmation,” the official TAP source said.
“An email will be sent to passengers who already have a ticket to travel with TAP, with a departure date from Maputo and up until April 30, with information on how to proceed,” the communique concludes.
