The systematisation of data for the payment of subsidies mitigating the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on vulnerable groups is already underway in all 26 peripheral neighbourhoods of the city of Beira.
According to National Institute of Social Action (INAS) delegate in Beira, Abdul Razak, only then will the payments be made to the beneficiaries.
The systematisation in progress consists in correcting any flaws in the lists previously drawn up by the neighbourhood structures and submitted to the institution, Razak explained.
There are 80,749 households, 63,857 in Beira and the remaining 16,892 in Dondo. All will receive the 1,500 meticais payment electronically, in order to ensure social distance.
The process, Razak says, is set for six months, in three tranches of two months each, totalling 9,000 meticais per family.
The systematisation aims to combat disinformation in the communities, as happened in the recent payment of the 7,500 meticais Idai subsidy, referring to the first three-month tranche. The last phase, of the same amount, may be distributed soon.
Noticias has meanwhile learned that, to mitigate the negative impact of Covid-19, INAS increased the subsidy payment from its traditional beneficiaries from 12 to 15 months.
Overall, 33,161 vulnerable households are integrated in the INAS Delegation through various programmes, such as basic social subsidy, direct social support, service in social units and productive social action.
