Covid-19: Rapid tests for truck drivers travelling to Beira port, Sofala

Long-haul truck drivers travelling to the Port of Beira in Sofala province will be subjected to rapid Covid-19 testing.
The measure, to be introduced within days, is part of efforts to halt the spread of the pandemic in the province, where the Beira Corridor is thought to be one of the main sources of contamination.
“One of our first observations is that diagnosed cases are linked to the Beira Corridor. This poses a challenge for us to impose controls, hence the need to think about testing all drivers,” Secretary of State for Sofala province Stela Pinto Novo Zeca said.
