Official numbers on medical treatment for substance abuse rise in 2024, Maputo city leads

Mozambique recorded, in the last 24 hours, another 21 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, bringing the total of Covid-19 confirmed cases to to 1,557. From Tuesday to Wednesday (July 22), 839 tests were performed in the country.
Of the newly diagnosed cases, 10 are from the province of Nampula, two from Manica, two from Sofala, four from Gaza, and three from the city of Maputo.
“The new cases reported today are all locally transmitted and include 19 individuals of Mozambican nationality and two individuals of Indian nationality. They are the result of surveillance in the Health Units and the tracking of contacts of positive cases ”, reads a statement from the Ministry of Health.
The number of people who have fully recovered rises to 523, with the registration of another 17 recoveries.
11 deaths due to Covid-19 and two due to other causes prevail.
Currently, Mozambique accounts for 1021 active cases, distributed as follows: Niassa Province 19, Cabo Delgado 203, Nampula 239, Zambézia 28, Tete 22, Manica 23, Sofala 21, Inhambane 39, Gaza 54, Maputo Province 191 and Maputo city 182.
Of the total of cases registered so far in the country, 1401 are of local transmission and 156 imported.
