The district hospital of Nicoadala in Zambézia province is providing favourable conditions for the spread of the new coronavirus, “O País” reports. Patients seeking medical services there are not observing the one metre social distance recommended in the State of Emergency decree in force in the country.
This Wednesday morning, the volume of patients at the hospital was so great that they could not observe the stricture on no more than 10 people gathering in one place either, all under the gaze of the authorities responsible for the management of the hospital.
Technicians, some with masks and others without, and with and without gloves to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other diseases, performed their functions normally, as if the country were not in a pandemic-induced state of emergency.
Nicoadala district chief medical officer Dália Hussene said that professionals in each sector had been properly informed about the distance that should be observed between patients, contrary to what could easily be observed on site. “We have also created a separate place to care for patients with coughs,” she added.
