Portuguese experts train 252 Mozambican doctors in diabetes diagnosis, treatment

Mozambique this Tuesday (July 28) registered 19 more cases of infection with the new coronavirus, bringing the cumulative number of infections to 1,720, health authorities announced.
The number of deaths remains unchanged, 11 deaths, and there are six more cases of recovery, bringing the total to 602 recovered.
To date, 54,081 suspected cases have been tested in Mozambique.
Of the 19 new infections announced today, seven were registered in Maputo Province and another seven in Maputo City.
There were also two new cases in Cabo Delgado – the region with the highest cumulative number of infected, 441 – and three in Sofala.
“Mozambique has a cumulative of 43 individuals hospitalised due to Covid-19. Of these, 10 are under medical care in isolation centres,” added today’s statement from the Ministry of Health.
Al the hospitalised patients “suffer from various chronic pathologies”.
The country to date has 1,105 active cases of Covid-19, with the largest number currently located in Maputo City ( 249), followed by Cabo Delgado province (234), Maputo Province (216) and Nampula province (209).
The remaining seven provinces have much lower records, with 19 to 53 cases each.
The Covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than 654,000 lives and infected more than 16.5 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
