Mozambique: Judges dismissed for corruption - AIM report

Mozambique recorded 53 more positive Covid-19 cases over Saturday and Sunday (July 25-26), bringing the cumulative total to 1,669 cases, still with 11 deaths, the Ministry of Health of Mozambique (Misau) announced in a statement issued yesterday.

The new cases resulted from 978 tests on suspected cases carried outin the previous 24 hours, of which 925 came back negative, the note said. The positive cases reported yesterday are in isolation at home and the process of mapping their contacts is currently underway.
Mozambique now has a cumulative of 41 individuals hospitalised with Covid-19, including eight under hospital care in isolation centres. Meanwhile, 50 coronavirus patients have fully recovered, bringing the total to 593, or 35.53% of registered cases.
The country had, by Sunday, 1,063 active Covid-19 cases, which were distributed in the following decreasing order: city of Maputo (228), Cabo Delgado province (225), Nampula province (209), Maputo province (202), Gaza province (52), Inhambane province (34) Zambézia province (27), Manica province (26), Tete province (22), Sofala province (19) and Niassa province (19).
Since the registration of the first case of the new coronavirus in Mozambique on March 22, 52,422 people have been tested in Mozambique and 1,517,106 have been screened.
The new coronavirus pandemic has already caused the death of 645,715 people worldwide and infected 16,072,290 in 196 countries, with 9,061,300 registered as cured, according to the latest calculations made by the Agency France-Presse (AFP).
According to the AFP balance sheet, last checked at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday there were 6,003 additional fatalities and 260,578 new cases worldwide.
