First Lady of Mozambique Isaura Nyusi yesterday accepted a US$100,000 (around 6,6 million meticais at current exchange rates) donation from the Executive Committee of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) for use in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
The donation was formalised during a meeting between Isaura Nyusi and UBA chief executive Rotimi Morohunfola, called to organise support for the Office of the Wife of the President of the Republic in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, and in recognition of the need to show solidarity with the efforts of the Mozambican government.
The UBA is based in Nigeria and has a presence in 23 African countries, as well as in Europe and the United States of America.
