Mozambique: INGD launches code of conduct for humanitarian actors

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus has increased in Mozambique, with four more cases between Sunday (June 21) and Monday (June 22). This bring the cumulative total to 737, the Ministry of Health said yesterday afternoon.
The four new patients, one of whom is under the age of five, are in isolation at home and the process of identifying their possible contacts is underway, National Director of Public Health Dr Rosa Marlene said.
By Monday, 24,348 suspected cases had been tested in Mozambique, 588 in the last 24 hours.
Of the samples tested over Sunday and Monday, 194 were from Niassa province, 12 from Cabo Delgado, seven from Nampula, three from Zambézia, 35 from Tete, 130 from Sofala, three from Inhambane, one from Gaza, 123 from Maputo province and 80 from Maputo city.
By Monday, the country had a cumulative total of 737 registered positive cases, 667 of local transmission and 70 imported.
The new cases reported yesterday were all of Mozambican nationality, and resulted from contact tracing and active surveillance in health units.
