Cornelder de Moçambique, through its General Cargo Terminal, set a new granite block loading productivity record by reaching a daily gross productivity of 6,357 tons, surpassing the average of 3,400 tons handled daily.
The operations were carried out over 39 hours, from May 28th to 29th, 2024, and a total of 10,374 tons was shipped out.
The vessel productivity achieved with this shipment is the result of structural changes implemented in the granite blocks loading plan and execution process. The terminal and Supercargo jointly designed a very detailed stowage plan, improving coordination between quay operations and the storage area, as well as optimizing the location of the granite blocks in the parking area.
Contributing to these results was the excellent performance of the recent equipment acquired by Cornelder de Moçambique, a result of continuous investment in the company’s fleet modernization.
Modern terminal tractors, special trailers, and large forklifts, along with the dynamics resulting from the application of the new Terminal Management Operating System, were crucial in achieving this milestone.
