Confessed child-rapists detained in Zambezia – A Verdade

Police in Zambezia have arrested two child rapists.

One, a teenage domestic worker, confessed to taking advantage of his employers’ absence to rape a child under the age of three at least twice.

As a consequence, the child contracted an obstetric fistula.

“She started to take a bath, so we went inside to put clothes on her and right there I raped the child. The second time was in the kitchen. I was sitting and the child found me and sat on my foot,” the man confessed.

Also in Zambezia province, a 29-year-old man lured a minor under 11 years of age into his house with the promise of 10 meticais and there raped her.

“She asked me for 20 meticais. I had 10 meticais in my pocket and I gave them to her. I had no intent, because it was the first day I saw that girl in the neighbourhood. She came to visit an aunt. When she came, it came with all that power,” the man said.

The two individuals were arrested by the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).
